Support Our Community's Children and Families 

NewYork-Presbyterian (NYP)’s Division of Community and Population Health programs work in partnership with community-based organizations (CBOs) and healthcare teams to advance health equity, empowering patients and community members across New York City and Westchester County. 

The Maternal and Child Health Program (MAC) represents a collaborative of services designed to improve health, development, and wellness outcomes for the maternal-infant dyad. Through MAC, experts across disciplines and specialties collaborate, identify patient needs, streamline service connections, and ultimately increase access to care. Team members include obstetricians, pediatricians, nurse practitioners, social workers, psychologists, community health workers, doulas, and more. Multiple programs exist within the MAC collaborative. Each program is carefully designed to meet the unique needs of new caregivers at different stages of the perinatal and early childhood periods. Services are designed to improve routine healthcare access, provide psychological support and early intervention, and increase community engagement and social services for families in need.

The Program Service Specialist position provides administrative and operational support for portfolio of early childhood programs and family support services. The Program Service Specialist is embedded within Ambulatory Care Network pediatricpractices and helps families navigate early childhood systems connecting them to essential resources. This role involves assisting with program activities, supporting families and children, coordinating resources, and ensuring a smooth day-to-day operation. The Program Service Specialist collaborates closely with staff, families, and community partners to ensure the effective delivery of early childhood programs and activities, while promoting positive outcomes for children and families. 

The Program ServiceSpecialist facilitates literacy, developmental, and material goods programs, including Reach Out and Read and a toy distribution.

Preferred Criteria 

  • Knowledge of early childhood programming and development 
  • Experience working in a community setting 

 

 

Required Criteria 

  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • Excellent oral communication skills. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and a high degree of flexibility 
  • Ability to function independently with minimal supervision
