Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking a full-time Program Assistant to support the UCLA PEERS Clinic. The PEERS Clinic serves children, adolescents, and adults with developmental neurodevelopment disabilities, supporting innovative programs that promote inclusion, independence, and quality of life.

In this role you will provide administrative, patient service, and program support to faculty, staff, clinicians, and program participants while helping ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the clinic. Key responsibilities:

  • Schedule appointments and coordinate faculty and clinician calendars
  • Check in patients, enter information into CareConnect, and assist with MyChart activation
  • Support participant screenings, enrollment, and program coordination activities
  • Monitor patient communications and assist with clinic operations
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, meeting agendas, and minutes
  • Coordinate meetings, maintain files and records, and support special projects
  • Assist with travel reimbursements, purchasing requests, credentialing paperwork, and other administrative functions
  • Provide administrative support during group and individual program sessions

Salary range: $27.74/hr - $39.36/hr

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field (Preferred)

Minimum 1 year of experience implementing or supporting PEERs program

Knowledge of psychiatric or mental health terminology (preferred)

Experience in a healthcare, behavioral health, or academic medical setting (preferred)

Ability and comfort working with the departments patient population and their families

Minimum 1 year of experience working with neurodivergent and/or autistic individuals (preferred)

Strong organizational, communication, or customer service skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Experience with EPIC/CareConnect or other electronic medical record systems (preferred)

Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement with minimal supervision
