Purpose and Scope:

Professional Learning Analyst supports the designing, planning, and implementing of District-wide specific with professional learning / development initiatives and projects that align to the District’s strategic plan, as well as the Professional Learning and Support Department’s Theory of Action.  This includes working collaboratively with members of the Professional Development Management Team, school administration, and central office employees to collect and review professional learning data, analyze trends, plan for solutions for teacher learning through project planning, communicate results, and executing any follow-up support.  Professional Learning Analysts also play a role in supporting the design of high-quality PL throughout the district, and monitor the quality and implementation of PL provided by other district employees. 


Essential Job Functions:
  1. Prepares and maintains a variety of narrative and statistical reports, records, correspondence, and files related to assigned service and ad-hoc services, activities, and operations; provides appropriate research and compiles reports, as needed.
  2. Uses a variety of data to identify trends for teachers across the District, groups of schools, individual or small groups of teachers ensuring effective implementation of assigned projects to full execution to ensure outcomes and goals are met, adherence to schedule, scope, and budget to make recommendations to the Director of PL on how to capitalize on successful strategies.
  3. Creates professional learning project plans to address trends in data, and to support assigned projects as it relates to the PL Department (such as supporting: New Teacher Mentors, PL Catalog and Management Systems, video enhanced professional development, etc.).
  4. Ensures a project communication plan is established and executed for all prioritized projects and communicates consistently and effectively with Professional Learning Management and staff on status, risks, and issues related to assigned projects.
  5. Monitors the effectiveness of district-wide PL delivered by other central office departments by reviewing and providing feedback on PL proposals. Support other departments by consulting with them as they design PL, as well as provide feedback on departmental PL plans and execution. Attend PL across the district to monitor quality and provide feedback. Support execution of district-wide PL.
  6. Fosters a deep understanding of the content standards and effectively designs and executes professional learning to teachers and district office staff aligned to the content standards as needed.
  7. Deal with complex problems and provide solutions that are innovative and ingenious, achieving quality and work process improvements. May ensure that the workgroup’s goals and activities are in synch with and support the broader goals and objectives of the organization; and that the execution of responsibilities are in accordance to lawful and ethical standards. Analyze the use of instructional technology strategies and teacher processes
  8. Assists with special projects, i.e. multimedia, telecommunications etc.
  9. Works collaboratively with other professionals and management to achieve system-wide results that directly impact the academic achievement of students. This may look like leading focus groups, managing peers towards deadlines, providing feedback to others, etc.
  10. Liaise with Instructional technology team and IT Department to ensure technology and data captured supports the district initiatives.
  11. Supports the use of the Learning Management system for all professional development.
  12. Works with the PL Clerk to organize all necessary trainings
  13. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public or Business Administration, Human Resources, Education or a closely related area ;PLUS four (4) years related experience, or equivalent, for a total education/experience of  eight (8) years.  Professional experience as a teacher preferred. 

Degree Equivalency Formula:

Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.

Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.
