Position: Production Supervisor
Location: Palatine, IL 60067

Shift Timings: 1st Shift (07.00 AM – 03.30 PM)

Position Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within Selective Soldering, Robotic Soldering, Wave Soldering, Hand Soldering, Wash, Mechanical Assembly, and Conformal Coating departments in a PCBA contract manufacturing facility. The role focuses on achieving production, quality, equipment reliability, safety, and delivery objectives while fostering employee development and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead daily manufacturing operations across soldering, mechanical assembly, and conformal coating departments.
  • Maintain an active, hands-on presence on the production floor to support employees, monitor workflow, and address production issues in real time.
  • Ensure production schedules, quality standards, and customer delivery requirements are consistently achieved.
  • Oversee PCB wash and PCBA rework activities, ensuring compliance with quality requirements, IPC standards, and customer specifications.
  • Crosstrain, coach, and manage production employees while supporting workforce development and performance management.
  • Monitor key performance indicators including productivity, yield, labor efficiency, scrap, rework, and equipment uptime.
  • Ensure compliance with IPC standards, customer specifications, work instructions, and company procedures.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and coordinate preventive maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Support NPI activities, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Operations to resolve manufacturing challenges and improve operational performance.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant manufacturing environment.
  • Coordinate material flow, work-in-process (WIP), and staffing resources to support production schedules and minimize bottlenecks.
  • Review production defects, nonconforming material issues, and customer quality concerns, ensuring timely containment and corrective action implementation.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of electronics manufacturing experience in a PCBA contract manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience or Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience with through-hole soldering processes, wash, mechanical assembly, and conformal coating operations.
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and electronics manufacturing best practices.
  • Ability to spend most of the workday on the production floor in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical & Work Environment Requirements.
  • Regularly stand and walk on the production floor for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to soldering equipment, automated machinery, fluxes and chemicals used, and standard PPE requirements.
