About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Product Manager to support next-generation media mastering platforms powering a studio media supply chain. In this role, you will own a vertical of product applications end-to-end, shaping the product vision, driving execution, and solving stakeholder challenges across a high-volume entertainment environment.
This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on, strategic Product Manager with deep familiarity in digital cinema mastering and packaging workflows, especially DCP (Digital Cinema Packages) and IMF (Interoperable Master Formats). You will act as a key liaison between business stakeholders and the technology team, translating complex creative and technical requirements into scalable software capabilities that support global film and streaming distribution.

What You'll Do
  • Define and own the product vision and roadmap for mastering and packaging workflows (DCP, IMF, and related formats)
  • Translate post-production requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria, including:
    • metadata management
    • versioning
    • validation
    • encryption
    • delivery workflows
  • Prioritize the product backlog across mastering, QC, automation, and distribution modules
  • Partner with engineering, media operations, and localization teams to deliver reliable, automated, and standards-compliant mastering tools
  • Represent end users across mastering operators, QC teams, and localization vendors, gathering feedback to guide product direction
  • Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, demos, and retrospectives
  • Define and track KPIs such as throughput, error rates, validation success, and delivery turnaround time
  • Stay current with SMPTE standards (ST 429, ST 2067) and emerging mastering technologies
  • Collaborate with security, networking, and infrastructure teams to ensure encrypted and high-performance transfer of large media assets across cloud and on-prem environments
  • Champion automation initiatives that reduce manual QC effort and accelerate delivery to partners and platforms

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager / Product Owner supporting media supply chain, mastering, or distribution platforms
  • Strong knowledge of DCP and IMF packaging standards, including CPL/PKL structures, encryption, and KDM workflows
  • Agile Scrum experience (required)
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as Cursor (required)
  • Experience supporting a Digital Cinema or Entertainment company (required)
  • Working knowledge of SaaS architectures and cloud storage platforms such as AWS S3 / Azure Blob
  • Familiarity with high-throughput file transfer technologies (ex: Aspera, Signiant, S3 Transfer Acceleration)
  • Experience supporting Agile teams building web-based tools and APIs for mastering, QC, or delivery pipelines
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and operational teams
  • Proven ability to ship scalable, high-quality products in deadline-driven environments

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within a studio, post-production, or distribution technology environment
  • Knowledge of MAM/DAM systems, transcoding workflows, and metadata validation tools
  • Familiarity with Dolby Vision, HDR, audio channel mapping, and subtitling/closed caption standards
  • Experience with localization, versioning, and territory-specific mastering at scale
  • Understanding of cloud automation and containerized workflows (AWS Batch, Kubernetes, Fargate)

Education
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Media Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • MBA or PMP/CSPO is a plus

Hybrid Schedule Requirement
The team is onsite 3 days per week. Candidates submitted must be available and willing to follow the same schedule.
