Product Engineer - Electrical / Electronic

Location: Dearborn, MI (Hybrid - 4 Days Onsite)

Pay Rate: $35-$38/hr

Type: W2 Contract

Overview

We are seeking a Product Engineer - Electrical / Electronic to help develop next-generation vehicle electrical architectures for future automotive platforms. This role will focus on systems engineering, electrical architecture development, requirements management, and functional safety while supporting advanced vehicle technologies, including electrification and ADAS systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support future vehicle electrical architecture concepts.
• Translate vehicle-level objectives into system and hardware requirements.
• Manage requirements through creation, traceability, verification, and closure.
• Apply systems engineering methodologies to complex electrical systems.
• Support electrical network analysis, modeling, and architecture optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to drive technical solutions.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 functional safety requirements.
• Utilize AI-enabled tools to support system analysis and engineering activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.

• 2+ years of experience designing, modeling, or developing complex electrical systems.

• Strong understanding of:

• Systems Engineering principles (requirements decomposition, V-model, interface management, verification)

• Electrical networks and architectures

• ISO 26262 Functional Safety standards

• Experience using AI tools or methods for engineering analysis and system optimization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in a related engineering field.
• 5+ years of experience with vehicle electrical architectures or other high-reliability electrical systems.
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Familiarity with FEDE, Jama, GPDS, and Jira.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Additional Information

• Hybrid position requiring onsite work in Dearborn, MI, four days per week.
• Candidates must be available to work onsite from day one.
• In-person interviews may be required.
• Relocation assistance is not provided.
