Pay Rate: $35-$41/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Employment Type: W2 Contract

Position Overview

We are seeking a Product Engineer - Chassis to support the design, development, release, and validation of structural chassis components for passenger vehicles and trucks. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong Design & Release experience, CAD expertise, and a background in frame and structural systems. The successful candidate will help deliver robust, cost-effective, and lightweight designs while working closely with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

This position focuses on components including:

  • Vehicle Frames
  • Frame-Mounted Structural Sheet Metal
  • Body Isolators
  • Tuned Mass Dampers
  • Tow Hooks
  • Spare Tire Winches
  • Chassis Mounting Systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design and release activities for chassis and structural components from concept through launch.
  • Develop and modify 3D CAD models using CATIA V5/V6 and 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX).
  • Create innovative engineering solutions that balance cost, weight, durability, manufacturability, and performance requirements.
  • Interpret CAE analysis results and apply engineering principles to optimize structural designs.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering specifications, company standards, and vehicle requirements.
  • Drive robust product development through DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and engineering best practices.
  • Resolve durability, assembly, packaging, and functional concerns throughout the development process.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, suppliers, CAE, crash, thermal, and vehicle integration teams.
  • Support benchmarking initiatives, warranty reduction efforts, and material cost reduction activities.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to peer engineers.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.

  • Minimum 3 years of Design & Release Engineering experience focused on vehicle frames, chassis structures, or underbody systems.

  • Proficiency with:

  • CATIA V5/V6

  • 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX)

  • 3D CAD Modeling

  • Experience with structural component design and release.

  • Understanding of engineering fundamentals related to structural design.

  • Ability to interpret CAE results and apply findings to design decisions.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting frame systems, mounts, tow hooks, body isolators, or similar chassis components.
  • Knowledge of vehicle launch activities and product development processes.
  • Experience driving cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Hybrid schedule requiring onsite attendance four days per week.
  • Candidates must be able to work onsite from day one.
