Description

Are you chronically online in the best way possible? Do you have an encyclopedic knowledge of internet culture, a sixth sense for what's about to go viral, and the ability to explain a meme to someone who definitely doesn't get it? If so, we want you.

Betches Media is seeking a Producer to lead production on How Online Are You? and other long-form interview series on the Betches YouTube channel. This role is perfect for someone who is deeply tapped into the cultural conversation — who knows what's trending, why it's trending, and why it's funny.

You'll conduct guest interviews, build episode outlines, write scripts, oversee edits, and provide feedback to keep every episode sharp, timely, and genuinely entertaining. You'll also support other members of the video team across additional series and initiatives. This is a full-time role based in NYC, with in-person availability required for production days, tapings, and junkets.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct guest interviews for How Online Are You and other long-form interview series

  • Create episode outlines and write interview scripts that are sharp, timely, and true to the Betches voice

  • Support other members of the video team on additional series and initiatives as needed

  • Research and compile weekly trending topics, viral moments, memes, and internet discourse across TikTok, Instagram, X, and beyond to inform episode content

  • Develop guest briefs covering the celebrity's background, recent projects, press narrative, online presence, and relevant cultural moments

  • Research each guest's promotional project in depth — film, TV, album, or otherwise — so the team is fully prepared to speak to their work in context

  • Tailor questions and talking points to each episode's guests, identifying their viral moments, online footprint, and cultural relevance

  • Coordinate with production, talent, and PR teams to schedule shoots, confirm approved talking points, off-limit topics, and project embargoes ahead of production

  • Oversee edits and provide feedback to editors to ensure episodes land the intended tone and pacing

  • Fact-check all quiz and script content rigorously to ensure accuracy and cultural context before it goes on camera

  • Stay ahead of the news cycle and flag relevant stories with enough lead time for production

  • Be on set for in-studio shoots, junket shoots, and virtual production sessions

  • Maintain a working knowledge of Betches' voice, tone, and audience

Qualifications

  • Strong interviewing, research, and writing skills with the ability to adapt to the Betches voice

  • Experience producing or working on set in a production environment is a must

  • Genuinely, almost concerningly online — you are the first person in your group chat to send a meme

  • A clear sense of what's funny, what's culturally relevant, and what will land on camera

  • 4-5 years of experience in a comedy writing setting (Improv, Sketch, Screenwriting, etc.)

  • Comfortable working quickly and independently in a fast-moving production environment

  • 4-5 years of experience in media, production, editorial, or a related field

  • Familiarity with Google Suite, Asana, Frame.io, and LucidLink

  • Familiarity with Betches Media and a genuine understanding of the brand's audience and tone

  • NYC-based
