Job Title: Process Designer

Job Description

The Process Designer supports the process engineering group by delivering high-quality design solutions for a wide range of industrial projects. This role focuses on creating detailed drawings and models for process and instrumentation systems, equipment layouts, piping plans, and P&IDs using Plant 3D, primarily within consumer, industrial, pulp and paper, and food and beverage environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for industrial projects.
  • Create accurate piping plans and layouts that support process engineering requirements.
  • Produce equipment layouts and 3D models using Plant 3D to support project design and coordination.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive drawings for process, instrumentation, and piping systems in an industrial setting.
  • Use Plant 3D software to model process systems and ensure designs meet project specifications and standards.
  • Develop and manage bills of materials (BOM) based on design drawings and models.
  • Collaborate with process engineers and other project team members to translate engineering concepts into clear, constructible designs.
  • Ensure that all drawings and models comply with industry standards and project-specific guidelines.
  • Support multiple projects across consumer, industrial, pulp and paper, and food and beverage sectors by adapting designs to different process requirements.
  • Review and refine designs to improve accuracy, efficiency, and constructability throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in Plant 3D software for process and piping design.
  • Strong experience in developing and interpreting P&IDs.
  • Ability to create detailed piping plans and equipment layouts.
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining bills of materials (BOM).
  • Experience with process and instrumentation design in industrial settings.
  • Experience in food and beverage industry processes and standards.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD for design and drafting tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings and models.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience supporting process engineering teams on multi-disciplinary industrial projects.
  • Familiarity with design requirements in consumer, industrial, pulp and paper, and food and beverage environments.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and project stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple design tasks and documentation.
  • Capability to adapt designs to varying client and industry specifications.

Work Environment

This position is fully onsite in an industrial setting, working closely with process engineers and project teams. The role involves daily use of Plant 3D and AutoCAD on standard office and engineering workstations, with regular interaction with project documentation and design reviews. Work is performed in a professional environment that supports collaboration, detailed technical work, and coordination across consumer, industrial, pulp and paper, and food and beverage projects.

This is a Contract position based out of De Pere, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
