Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Private Client Tax Manager / Senior Manager to lead complex tax engagements for high-net-worth individuals, families, and private wealth clients.
The position will be responsible for tax planning, compliance, and advisory services while managing client relationships, reviewing complex tax returns, resolving technical tax issues, and mentoring junior tax professionals.
The ideal candidate will have extensive public accounting experience, an active CPA license, strong individual taxation expertise, and significant experience with high-net-worth clients and estate, gift, and trust taxation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead tax engagements for high-net-worth and private wealth clients.
Manage client deadlines, deliverables, budgets, and overall engagement execution.
Review complex individual income tax returns.
Review estate, gift, and trust tax returns.
Provide comprehensive tax planning and advisory services.
Develop proactive tax recommendations based on current tax laws and regulations.
Research, identify, and resolve complex tax issues.
Maintain and strengthen long-term client relationships.
Serve as a trusted tax advisor to high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners.
Identify opportunities to improve internal and client processes through technology.
Mentor, coach, and develop junior and senior tax professionals.
Work closely with Senior Managers and Partners on complex client matters.
Provide high-quality client service and technical tax guidance.
Stay current on changes in federal, state, and local tax regulations affecting private clients.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
7+ years of public accounting tax experience.
Active CPA license is required.
Strong individual taxation experience.
Strong experience with estate, gift, and trust taxation.
Experience reviewing complex individual and fiduciary tax returns.
Strong tax planning and advisory experience.
Demonstrated experience working with high-net-worth/private clients.
Strong client relationship-management skills.
Leadership, coaching, and mentoring experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong project-management and organizational abilities.
Ability to manage multiple complex engagements and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous Senior Manager-level experience.
Extensive experience serving high-net-worth individuals and private wealth clients.
Experience handling sophisticated estate, gift, and trust tax matters.
Experience advising business owners and closely held businesses.
