    Description

    Amazon Leo is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of number of satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Leo will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

    Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

    Key job responsibilities

    In this role, you will drive the strategy, planning, and execution of programs that enable our team to automate mission planning and execution to efficiently operate the Leo fleet at scale, while maintaining space safety and maximizing service availability for Leo satellite Internet customers.

    • Own the end-to-end program strategy for Leo satellite onboard agents and ground services, aligning roadmaps across satellite command, file transfer, telemetry, and logging workstreams
    • Partner closely with engineering leaders to translate business and mission objectives into actionable program plans, driving clarity on scope, dependencies, and sequencing across embedded software (C, C++, Rust) and AWS cloud service development
    • Identify, track, and resolve cross-team risks, blockers, and dependencies between Leo ground service teams and satellite agent teams to keep programs on schedule
    • Define and report on program metrics/OKRs that reflect delivery health, space safety posture, and service availability for Leo satellite Internet customers
    • Drive operational rigor - business reviews, roadmap planning, retrospectives - and build mechanisms that scale as the team and fleet grow
    • Communicate program status, risks, and trade-offs clearly to senior leadership and stakeholders across engineering, product, and operations
    • Lead process improvements that increase development velocity and quality across the software development lifecycle, from requirements through implementation, test, and operations
