Description

We are seeking a motivated and personable Pre-Litigation Attorney to join a plaintiff-focused personal injury legal team in Sacramento. This opportunity is well suited for an attorney who has recently passed the California Bar, is awaiting Bar results, or is an early-career attorney looking to develop strong practical experience in personal injury law.

The attorney will work closely with experienced legal professionals and receive hands-on training and mentorship while managing real cases. The role provides an opportunity to develop skills in case evaluation, client communication, legal research, medical record review, insurance negotiations, settlement strategy, and case management.

This is a pre-litigation position and does not involve courtroom litigation, allowing the attorney to build a strong foundation in personal injury practice.

Job Responsibilities

Communicate regularly with clients and provide guidance throughout the pre-litigation process.
Evaluate personal injury cases, identify legal issues, and assess liability and damages.
Review medical records, bills, reports, and demand packages.
Conduct legal research and assist with developing case strategy.
Work closely with case managers and other team members to ensure cases progress efficiently.
Communicate and negotiate with insurance companies regarding claims and settlements.
Assist in preparing and presenting settlement demands.
Monitor client treatment and help ensure appropriate documentation and case development.
Participate in client intake and evaluate potential new cases.
Communicate with prospective clients and clearly explain the firm's ability to assist with their claims.
Maintain accurate case documentation and follow established procedures and deadlines.
Develop strong client relationships through clear, empathetic, and professional communication.
Collaborate with attorneys, case managers, and support staff in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

J.D. from an accredited law school.
California Bar admission, pending Bar results, or eligibility for California Bar admission.
Recent Bar passage or early-career legal experience preferred.
Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
Interest in plaintiff-side personal injury law.
Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills.
Ability to evaluate information, identify legal issues, and make sound real-time assessments.
Excellent organization and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple cases, priorities, and deadlines effectively.
Confident and professional telephone communication skills.
Empathetic approach to working with clients who may be dealing with challenging circumstances.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a legal team.
Prior personal injury or pre-litigation experience is a plus, but not required.
Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus.
