This is a full-time Program Coordinator for the Early Intervention Program (Ages 3-5) at Star Hill Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year to provide support in developing and sustaining high levels of student achievement, teacher quality, and parent engagement opportunities to foster a positive school learning environment for all students, teachers and parents. (10-month position).

Individuals who are eligible or possess Early Childhood and Early Childhood Exceptional Children Special Education certifications are encouraged to apply. Candidates must apply online. Applicant must meet State of Delaware certification requirements for Early Childhood and Early Childhood Special Education. Successful candidates must provide evidence of successful PRAXIS II scores or a valid out of state teaching license.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful completion of a minimum of 5 years teaching experience, preferably in special education.
  • Possess or be eligible for Delaware teaching certification (Early Childhood Special Education Teacher of Students with Disabilities (Birth-Grade 2), Teacher of Students with Autism or Students with Severe Intellectual Disabilities certifications preferred).
  • Must possess strong communication, organization, interpersonal and leadership skills.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):

  • Schedule IEP annual, evaluation, and parent/administration requested IEP Team meetings.
  • Collaborate with Birth to 3 programs, Child Development Watch, and Transition Meetings.
  • Serve as an administrator/designee to conduct IEP meetings as well as other duties as assigned by Administration.
  • Ensuring IEP compliance with dates, scheduling/timelines, funding needs, Indicator 12 as well as best practices for IEP development.
  • Coordinating and support the scheduling of all special services listed on student IEPs.
  • Support for teachers across content areas (curriculum, instruction, data collection and classroom environment).
  • Facilitate parent involvement/family engagement activities at Star Hill Elementary School.
  • Collaborate with the Administrative team to design and lead professional development sessions for staff.
  • Serve as a resource person to assist in supporting district initiatives as it pertains to Star Hill Elementary School.
  • Collaborate with other building case managers and district level staff to ensure vertical articulation of best practices in special education.
  • Support administration in processing referrals, intake meetings, and providing historical information for new students.
  • Attend in and out of district IEP Team meetings as a Star Hill Elementary School representative.
  • Other duties as assigned (additional job responsibilities take place over the summer).

Out of State Candidates: An educator applying for a license in the State of DE with less than 1 year of experience will be placed on an Initial License. Applicants with one completed year of experience, but less than 4 years of experience will receive an Initial License. SALARY: In accordance with the State of Delaware and local salary schedules, based on experience and degree. Benefits package included.
