Animal Hospital of Shawnee Hills | Powell, OH

Full-Time | $65,000-$72,000 annually, based on experience

At Animal Hospital of Shawnee Hills, we're not just a veterinary hospital-we're a close-knit team of animal lovers, problem-solvers, caretakers, and passionate professionals who genuinely care about the work we do and the people we do it with.

We're growing and searching for a full-time Practice Manager to help lead our team, strengthen our culture, and guide the hospital into its next chapter.

This role is perfect for someone who loves veterinary medicine, enjoys developing people, knows how to keep a hospital running smoothly, and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves when things get busy.

Why You'll Love Working Here

At Animal Hospital of Shawnee Hills:

  • We treat every pet like family and believe every team member deserves to feel valued, supported, and heard.
  • Our full-service hospital combines high-quality medicine with the kind of personalized, compassionate care our clients have come to know and trust.
  • We're proud to offer comprehensive wellness care, dentistry, surgery, diagnostics, preventive medicine, and more.
  • We believe great hospitals are built through collaboration, communication, accountability, and trust.
  • We care about doing the right thing-for our patients, our clients, and each other.
  • We're always looking for ways to improve, grow, and make the experience better for both our team and the families we serve.

It's not just about what we do-it's how we do it. We lead with empathy, hold ourselves accountable, celebrate wins, learn from the hard days, and keep moving forward together.

Is This You?

  • You're an experienced veterinary leader or Practice Manager-or you're ready to take the next step into full practice leadership.
  • You thrive on building strong teams, creating structure, and helping people succeed.
  • You're passionate about both people and pets and understand that a healthy team directly impacts patient care and client experience.
  • You know how to manage a budget, monitor performance, and balance financial health with the needs of the team.
  • You believe good leadership means coaching, mentoring, supporting, and having the tough conversations when needed.
  • You follow through, communicate clearly, and help others stay accountable to their commitments.
  • You're organized, proactive, and comfortable adjusting priorities when veterinary medicine inevitably throws a curveball.
  • You enjoy solving problems instead of simply pointing them out.
  • You're excited to partner closely with the Medical Director and doctor team to create a hospital that runs well clinically, operationally, and culturally.

Bonus Points If You

  • Have previous veterinary management or leadership experience
  • Have experience with veterinary practice management software and reporting tools
  • Have led recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, training, or employee development initiatives
  • Are comfortable reviewing KPIs, budgets, labor, revenue, and other hospital performance metrics
  • Have experience coaching teams through change or growth
  • Hold a CVPM certification or are working toward certification
  • Have a knack for turning a chaotic day into something that somehow still feels manageable

What You'll Be Doing

No two days in veterinary medicine look exactly the same, but your role will include:

  • Leading and developing the hospital's support and client service teams
  • Partnering with the Medical Director to align medical and operational priorities
  • Supporting recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, and employee development
  • Providing timely coaching, feedback, recognition, and performance management
  • Helping build a positive, accountable, and growth-minded hospital culture
  • Monitoring financial performance, including revenue, labor, expenses, inventory, and other key metrics
  • Identifying opportunities to improve workflow, efficiency, appointment access, and client service
  • Ensuring policies, procedures, and hospital standards are consistently followed
  • Helping the team navigate change, solve problems, and stay focused on what matters most
  • Creating an environment where both people and pets receive exceptional care

What's in it for you?

  • Competitive pay, based on experience
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • Free virtual mental health support for household (13+)
  • Generous CE allowance + paid CE time
  • Uniform allowance
  • Pet care discounts for your personal pets
  • PTO, floating holidays, parental leave, and military leave
  • A robust Employee Assistance Program (from finances to wellness and everything in between)
  • Access to Encore Vet Group's library of training, CE, and career development resources
  • A 401(k) with up to 5% company match
