Job Details

Position Summary
We are seeking a Transmission Project Manager to oversee the successful execution of high-voltage transmission infrastructure projects from pre-construction through final closeout. This role is responsible for managing project performance, financial outcomes, client relationships, schedules, subcontractors, and field operations while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

The ideal candidate has experience leading either commercial or utility projects within construction and thrives in a fast-paced construction environment where collaboration, leadership, and problem-solving are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead transmission line projects through all phases of execution, including planning, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and resource allocation plans.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, estimating, procurement, construction, quality, and safety personnel.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients, field leadership, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor project financial performance, productivity, and resource utilization.
  • Manage change orders, contract administration, and risk mitigation activities.
  • Oversee subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Facilitate project meetings and provide timely reporting on schedule, budget, risks, and project milestones.
  • Support permitting, environmental compliance, right-of-way coordination, and utility requirements as needed.
  • Drive a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to all company, client, and regulatory standards.
  • Identify and resolve project challenges while maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Lead project closeout activities, turnover documentation, and lessons learned initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of project management experience supporting transmission, substation, utility, energy, or heavy civil infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing large capital construction projects and complex stakeholder environments.
  • Strong understanding of transmission line construction methodologies, utility practices, and project controls.
  • Proven track record managing project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and field operations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar scheduling software.
  • Ability to review contracts, manage change orders, and oversee project financial performance.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing transmission projects ranging from 69kV to 500kV+.
  • Utility, EPC, or specialty contractor project management experience.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials.
  • Familiarity with NERC, FERC, OSHA, and utility industry standards.
  • Experience supporting grid modernization, renewable interconnections, and large-scale transmission expansion initiatives.
