PR Support Specialist

smartdept. is searching for a PR Support specialist for a growth and transformation consultancy serving ecommerce, retail, and DTC brands. This is a fully remote, ongoing freelance contract opportunity.

You'll handle hands-on PR execution for consumer brands, working under the direction of a senior PR lead.

What You'll Do:

• Build and maintain media lists
• Draft press releases, pitches, and media materials
• Send outreach and follow up with media contacts
• Track coverage and build coverage reports
• Coordinate product samples and media requests
• Monitor news and opportunities for the brands

What You'll Need:

• Hands-on PR experience, ideally with consumer or lifestyle brands
• Strong writing and editing skills
• Experience with media databases like Cision, Muck Rack, or similar
• Strong organization and attention to detail
• Comfort using AI tools to work faster
• Clear, reliable communication

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Ecommerce, retail, or DTC brand experience
• Influencer outreach
• Social media support
• Agency PR experience
