    Post-Bar Law Clerk (Labor & Employment)


    Career Consulting Partners is partnered with a young and ambitious law firm. We are seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented Post-Bar Law Clerk who sat for the recent California State Bar Exam. In this role, you will gain hands-on exposure to the entire lifecycle of employment cases from initial client intake to pre-suit settlement negotiations and courtroom litigation.

    This post-bar clerkship is designed as a direct pipeline to an Associate Attorney role. Upon successfully passing the California Bar Exam and demonstrating strong performance during the clerkship period, high-performing candidates will be eligible for promotion to a full-time Associate Attorney position with an immediate title change, pay bump, and bonus eligibility.

    Responsibilities:

    • Draft initial civil complaints, administrative charges (CRD/EEOC/LWDA), pre-suit demand letters, motions, and mediation statements.

    • Review employment records, analyze wage stubs, calculate exposure models (unpaid wages, penalties, emotional distress), and draft tailored written discovery requests.

    • Perform fast-paced, complex research on the California Labor Code, FEHA, PAGA, and relevant case law.

    • Conduct prospective client intakes, interview witnesses, and participate in case strategy sessions alongside firm partners.

    • Organize deposition materials, compile hearing briefs, assemble mediation exhibits, and assist lead counsel with negotiation/trial strategies.

    Requirements:

    • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

    • Must have recently taken the California Bar Exam and be awaiting results.

    • Must be able to work full-time on-site at our Los Angeles office.

    • Strong legal research and writing skills, sharp attention to detail, and sound analytical capabilities.

    • A strong passion for employee rights and an eagerness to explore either civil litigation or high-volume dispute resolution.

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Salary: $85,000 - $90,000

    • Upon passing the California Bar Exam and contingent upon demonstrated hard work, strong writing skills, and a proven track record during the clerkship, candidates may be offered a full-time Associate Attorney position.

    • Starting associate compensation starts at $100,000, plus additional perks.
