Work Schedule
Monday through Friday. 7.5-hour workday with 0.5-hour unpaid lunch. Paid for actual time worked; there are no paid vacation or sick days.
Project Overview
The Enterprise Portfolio Management Office has developed a gated decision-making framework for all projects and programs across the company. This process provides the company with optimized portfolios of work, in addition to a governed progression of any given proposal across the lifecycle of the asset.
Job Functions & Responsibilities
• Assist in reviewing that projects and programs progress from initiation to closeout and review that the investments and initiatives achieve alignment with organizational asset investment strategies, financial targets, and benefits.
• Responsible for overseeing and guiding project/program teams in the comprehensive development of business cases.
• Ensure the adherence to the appropriate governance functions relating to the portfolio and in accordance with the applicable portfolio and project governance guidelines, policies and practices.
• Assist project and program teams navigate the newly implemented enterprise governance process and add consistent methodologies and enhance communications along the way.
• Prepares portfolio level analysis and reporting of financial control, resource utilization, risk, change management, benefits, unplanned work, etc., compares planned versus actual/forecasted, and examines the impact to the overall business.
• Lead reviews of any significant initiatives, projects or programs that are challenged or out of alignment with assigned portfolio's strategic and/or financial objectives and provide recommendations as to whether it should continue, be significantly changed, placed on hold or discontinued.
• Responsible for preparing monthly and ad hoc status reports and graphs depicting cost and schedule status/performance and trend analysis. Highlighting issues, conflicts, slippages, accelerations, key milestone movements, etc.
• Conduct continual improvement efforts for the purpose of ensuring portfolio and controls deliverables are accurate, relevant, and useful to key stakeholders.
Skills
• Possess a customer-centric mindset – extremely responsive to requests.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (MS Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, Excel, Outlook) is required.
• Experience with SharePoint is highly desired.
• Thorough understanding of project/program/portfolio management techniques and methods.
• Adaptive, flexible to change, highly interactive and result oriented.
• Ability to work as a member of a team and solve complex problems, utilize conflict resolution techniques to assert influence in a continual process improvement environment.
• Ability to work independently, coordinate multiple tasks and exercise time management while meeting non-negotiable deadlines.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
• Working knowledge of performance evaluation and Change Management principles.
• Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
• Ability to understand technical issues at a high level when collaborating with engineers and other technical specialists.
• Ability to make recommendations and inspire change across multiple levels of the organization – from individual engineers and program managers to business unit leaders.
• A "self-starter” approach to tackle a range of issues is essential.
Education & Certifications
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Engineering or related field required.
• Master's degree from an accredited school is preferred.
