Purpose/Summary: The PM Facilities Cleaner – Floor Care is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and professional environment throughout the facility. This position performs routine janitorial and detailed cleaning duties and periodically completes specialized floor-care services, including scrubbing, stripping, waxing, refinishing, buffing, burnishing, carpet extraction, and stain removal.
The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to manage assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision. They will have experience with commercial cleaning and floor-care equipment, understand the safe handling of cleaning chemicals, and take pride in maintaining a clean and professional facility, while following all facility and airport safety regulations. Previous specialized floor-care experience is preferred; however, training may be provided to a candidate who demonstrates strong reliability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
Shift - Sun - Thurs. (1400 - 2230)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
· Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of assigned buildings and surrounding premises in accordance with established daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning schedules.
· Empty waste and recycling receptacles, replace liners, and transport waste and recycling to designated disposal areas.
· Sweep, dust mop, wet mop, vacuum, and clean hard-surface flooring and carpeted areas.
· Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, urinals, sinks, stalls, walls, mirrors, fixtures, vents, and dispensers.
· Clean and detail offices, conference rooms, kitchens, communal areas, pilot lounges, sleeping rooms, lobbies, stairwells, and other assigned spaces.
· Perform high and low dusting and clean furniture, desks, tables, doors, walls, windows, fixtures, baseboards, floor trim, and other surfaces.
· Clean and polish partition glass, windows, elevator surfaces, and other glass surfaces, removing fingerprints, smudges, and marks.
· Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces, including doorknobs, telephones, handrails, switches, and shared equipment.
· Replenish toilet paper, paper towels, soap, sanitary products, and other facility supplies.
· Remove spills, stains, gum, dirt, and other contaminants using appropriate cleaning procedures.
· Perform scheduled and as-needed deep-cleaning projects, including carpet spot cleaning, interior window cleaning, detailed office cleaning, and other restorative cleaning.
· Perform periodic floor maintenance, including deep scrubbing, stripping, waxing, refinishing, buffing, burnishing, carpet extraction, and stain removal.
· Operate buffers, burnishers, auto-scrubbers, carpet extractors, wet/dry vacuums, and other commercial cleaning and floor-care equipment.
· Identify flooring materials and conditions and select the appropriate cleaning method, equipment, pad, brush, chemical, and floor finish.
· Strip and remove old floor finish and properly prepare floors for refinishing by cleaning, rinsing, neutralizing when necessary, and allowing surfaces to dry.
· Apply floor finish or wax evenly and in accordance with manufacturer instructions and facility requirements.
· Clean edges, corners, baseboards, and other areas inaccessible to larger floor-care machines.
· Inspect completed floor work for streaking, residue, uneven finish, missed areas, discoloration, or other deficiencies and correct issues as needed.
· Clean, inspect, maintain, and properly store custodial and floor-care equipment after use.
· Maintain custodial closets, chemicals, equipment, and supplies in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
· Follow established chemical dilution, labeling, storage, and handling procedures.
· Wear required personal protective equipment and follow all applicable safety procedures.
· Notify the supervisor of unsafe conditions, damaged surfaces, equipment problems, supply needs, major repairs, or other abnormal conditions.
· Complete assigned duties accurately and within established timeframes with minimal supervision.
· Follow airport security, safety, driving, and ramp-access requirements when operating company vehicles or working in restricted areas.
· Perform other related facilities, cleaning, and routine maintenance duties as assigned.
