    Description

Production Manager - Custom Cabinetry & Closet Shop

    Closet Factory Bay Area | Full-time, on-site | Salary + performance bonus

Closet Factory Bay Area is the largest custom storage company in the region: Focused in-house woodworking shop that builds every job we install.

    What you'll own

    • The team. Lead, schedule, coach, and hold accountable a small, experienced crew, including senior craftspeople with decades in the trade. Set clear expectations, run daily huddles, and build a shop where people know what's expected and want to show up.
    • The output. Every job complete, correct, and on time for installation, every day. You'll be measured on on-time completion, rework rate, and first-visit install success.
    • The systems. Build and enforce the processes the shop runs on: production scheduling, material flow, quality checkpoints, maintenance, safety, and cleanliness. Where a process doesn't exist, you create it. Where it exists but isn't followed, you fix that.
    • The numbers. Own shop labor efficiency, material yield, and cost control. Track it, report it weekly, and drive it down.
    • The relationships. Be the shop's voice with Sales, Design, Installation, and Purchasing. Problems get solved across departments, not thrown over the wall.
    • The future. Help the management team plan capacity, equipment, and staffing as we add crews.

    Who we're looking for

    • 3+ years managing a production team in cabinetry, millwork, closets, furniture, or another wood products shop
    • Hands-on knowledge of cabinet construction, CNC/panel processing, edgebanding, finishing, and assembly - enough to earn the respect of veteran craftsmen and to train newer ones
    • A track record of leveling up a small team: you've built accountability where there wasn't any, and you've done it without losing good people
    • Comfortable with data. You use production reports and KPIs to run the floor, not gut feel
    • Fluent in English and Spanish (required)
    • Strong communicator who works well with peers in other departments and with ownership
    • Experience with production/ERP scheduling software is a plus

    What we offer

    • Competitive base salary plus a bonus tied to shop performance
    • Health, dental, and vision benefits; 401(k)
    • Paid time off and holidays
    • A direct line to ownership, real decision-making authority, and a growing company where the results of your work are visible on the trucks every morning
