Inspire and instruct students to stay fit, challenge them to meet goals and to begin a lifelong commitment to health and good fitness habits.Essential Functions:Plan and teach physical education classes at multiple grade levelsFollow classroom routines and procedures to maintain appropriate atmosphere for learningAdherence to school regulations related to attendance, punctuality, maintaining accurate records, communicating with familiesParticipate in school events, professional growth and development opportunitiesMonitor students in lunchroom, gym, and hallways during individual duty periodsEncourage students to adopt healthy eating habits in accordance with school nutrition policiesTeach and model conflict resolution skillsMaintain the equipment and facilities Skill:Possess some athletic skill in order to demonstrate activityBe a vocal and outgoing person who is good at motivating middle school students Qualifications:College degree in the appropriate fieldStrong organizational and management skillsRecord of good attendanceAbility to be flexible in an ever-changing environmentPhysical Requirements and Work Environment:Generally works in standard inner city school condition and climateAbility to sit, stand, bend, reach, walk, see, hear, while being actively involved with the students in classAbility to lift 30 lbs
