PHARMACY MEMBER SUPPORT SPECIALIST
LOCATION
The Colony, TX | Onsite
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
• $22–$24/hour, based on experience and certifications
• Full-time, W2 employment
• Monday–Friday, 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. CST
(Training typically 9:00am - 6:00pm for the first 2 weeks)
ROLE IMPACT
Help members navigate prescription benefits and overcome barriers to accessing their medications. As a Pharmacy Member Support Specialist, you’ll work directly with members, prescribers, pharmacies, and assistance programs to resolve medication access issues, coordinate next steps, and create a supportive member experience. Success in this role means clear communication, accurate documentation, and consistent follow-through from first contact through resolution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support members with prescription benefit, medication access, and patient assistance needs through inbound and outbound calls.
• Coordinate with prescribers, pharmacies, and patient assistance programs to obtain required information, address access barriers, and support timely medication fulfillment.
• Research member needs, explain next steps clearly, and follow cases through resolution.
• Document member interactions, case updates, and outcomes accurately while following privacy, program, and quality standards.
• Partner with internal teams to resolve escalated issues and deliver responsive, patient-centered support.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Active Pharmacy Technician license or certification valid in at least one state.
(National Certification will be required if hired on permanently)
• 1+ year of call center experience in healthcare, pharmacy, prescription benefits, or member/patient support.
• Strong verbal and written communication, customer service, multitasking, and documentation skills in a fast-paced environment.
CORE TOOLS & SYSTEMS
Salesforce or similar CRM | Microsoft Excel | Microsoft Word | Pharmacy Management Software | Electronic Health Record (EHR) Systems
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Familiarity with Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM), prescription benefit programs, medication access, or patient assistance processes.
• Experience coordinating with members, pharmacies, prescribers, or healthcare teams to resolve prescription-related issues.
• Ability to research complex member concerns and provide clear, compassionate, solution-focused support.
