Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

Location: Waterford, VA 20197
Job Type: Contract / Local Position
Duration: Contract
Shift: Day | 7:15 AM–2:30 PM
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 5 Days/Week | 7.25 Hours/Day
Local Candidates: Accepted – Must live within 50 miles
Traveler Candidates: Not Accepted

Pay Rate: $20–$24/hr, based on experience

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

• Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant, paraprofessional, or in a school/childcare setting

• Experience supporting individuals with special needs or personal care requirements

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Patience, empathy, and dedication to supporting students

• Ability to follow individualized care plans and school safety guidelines

• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct personal care and daily living assistance to students under school staff guidance

• Assist students with mobility, positioning, personal hygiene, and daily self-care

• Monitor student safety and well-being throughout the school day

• Support students during classroom activities and transitions

• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and multidisciplinary school teams

• Maintain accurate records and required documentation

• Follow school protocols, safety procedures, and professional standards
