Position Overview:
Kings View is seeking a Peer Support Specialist I to support consumers in their recovery and wellness journey. This entry-level position is designed for individuals developing the skills and experience needed to independently support service delivery.

In this role you will use your lived experience to provide hope, encouragement, and support to children, youth caregivers, and families experiencing behavioral health crisis. Working alongside clinicians and multidisciplinary team members, you will help stabilize crisis, strengthen family relationships, and connect families with community resources that promote long-term success.  

Key Responsibilities
•    Provide trauma-informed peer support, crisis intervention, and de-escalation services to children, youth, caregivers, and families by telephone and in person.
•    Utilize lived experience to establish rapport, foster engagement, promote hope, and model healthy coping strategies while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
•    Collaborate with clinicians and multidisciplinary team members to support crisis stabilization, placement preservation, and family reunification efforts.
•    Assist with developing, implementing, and reinforcing individualized safety plans and relationship preservation plans.
•    Connect youth and families with community resources, educational supports, behavioral health services, and other supportive programs.
•    Accurately complete required documentation in accordance with Medi-Cal, CalAIM, Kings View, and program requirements.
•    Participate in case consultations, team meetings, trainings, and quality improvement activities.
•    Promote recovery-oriented, family-centered, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed services.

What You’ll Bring:

Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to obtain Peer Support Certification (if required by program)
- Valid California Driver’s License (Class C)
- Must be engaged in personal wellness and recovery if a consumer
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn and grow in a behavioral health setting
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Basic computer and documentation skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Requires the regular use of a personal vehicle to travel between client homes, community locations, and other work-related sites. Employees must maintain a valid CA drivers license, required automobile insurance, and an acceptable driving record. Mileage for authorized business travel will be reimbursed in accordance with Kings View policy and applicable CA law.

Additional Requirements:
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- May be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, or flexible schedules to meet program and client needs.
- Participate in an on-call and/or rotating crisis response schedule as required by the program.
