About the Opportunity - Payroll Specialist
We are partnering with a growing organization in the Brentwood area to identify an experienced Payroll Specialist. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with all applicable payroll regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to providing exceptional support to employees and leadership.
Key Responsibilities - Payroll Specialist
- Process weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payrolls accurately and on schedule
- Maintain payroll records, employee earnings, deductions, and tax information
- Review and verify timesheets, attendance records, and payroll adjustments
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Process garnishments, benefits deductions, and direct deposit updates
- Reconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end and year-end activities
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Assist with payroll audits and preparation of payroll-related reports
Qualifications - Payroll Specialist
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience required
- Experience with multi-state payroll processing preferred
- Knowledge of payroll tax regulations, wage laws, and compliance requirements
- Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus
