    Overview

    The Payroll Compliance Specialist is responsible for administering highly regulated, time-sensitive, and compliance-driven payroll activities. This role serves as the primary subject matter expert for wage garnishments, child support, statutory withholdings, supplemental and incentive payments, deduction management, and payroll-related recovery activities. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, confidentiality, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Administer wage garnishments, including child support, spousal support, tax levies, and other court-ordered deductions.
    • Process IRS levies and IRS lock-in letters in accordance with federal and state regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure statutory deadlines, calculations, and remittances are completed accurately and on time.
    • Maintain payroll compliance documentation and records for audit readiness and reporting purposes.
    • Process supplemental pay, bonuses, and incentive payments while ensuring proper taxation and payroll treatment.
    • Track repayment obligations related to incentive payments and initiate overpayment recovery and collection activities when applicable.
    • Manage third-party vendor deductions and coordinate with the Payroll Manager to ensure timely and accurate vendor payments.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Experience with wage garnishments or handling confidential, time-sensitive documents and processes required.
    • Payroll experience or exposure to payroll-related processes preferred.
    • Experience in a healthcare or multi-entity environment preferred.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
