Position Overview
Seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Patient Financial Specialist to support patient financial services, billing operations, and revenue cycle activities. This role is ideal for someone who can start immediately and is comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and excellent customer service.


Qualifications & Skills

Experience in healthcare billing, patient financial services, accounts receivable, or a related field preferred.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial and patient information.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable working with electronic health records and financial systems.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to identify discrepancies, research issues, and follow problems through to resolution.
Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy requirements.
Dependable, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Immediate availability to start is preferred.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Process and maintain patient financial information, payments, and account activity accurately and efficiently.
Perform daily payment and credit card reconciliation activities, researching discrepancies and ensuring transactions are properly recorded.
Process self-pay accounts and claims, including reviewing account information and following established billing procedures.
Assist with patient account updates, financial documentation, and routine billing-related data entry.
Manage returned and undeliverable patient correspondence, ensuring information is updated and routed appropriately.
Process patient-submitted payments and credit card information in accordance with established procedures and privacy requirements.
Review patient accounts for insurance or financial status changes and assist with periodic eligibility and coverage reviews.
Prepare and distribute patient financial correspondence, including notices and required follow-up communications.
Assist with financial assistance, insurance redeterminations, and other account-related processes as needed.
Maintain accurate records and documentation while protecting patient confidentiality and following HIPAA and organizational policies.
Identify account discrepancies and work with appropriate departments to resolve issues in a timely manner.
Utilize electronic health records, billing systems, spreadsheets, and other computer applications to document transactions, update accounts, and generate reports.
Provide support for reconciliation activities and other financial processes as assigned.
Take on additional responsibilities based on experience, skills, department needs, and workload.
