    Pathologists' Assistant
    Location:
    Jackson, MI 49201
    Assignment Length: 8 Weeks
    Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
    Hours: 40 Hours/Week
     

    Job Summary: The Pathologists' Assistant works under the supervision of a Pathologist, performing gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens, assisting with autopsies, tissue procurement, specimen accessioning, quality assurance activities, and laboratory operations.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.

    • Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists' Assistant Program or PA (ASCP) Certification.

    • Current BLS Certification.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens.

    • Select and submit tissue samples for microscopic examination.

    • Assist with autopsies and specimen documentation.

    • Ensure accurate specimen identification and accessioning.

    • Support quality assurance and laboratory operations.

    • Assist with resident training and inventory management.
