Description

American Traveler seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist for an inpatient/outpatient role requiring 2+ years of pediatric experience, VFSS experience, and CCC certification.

Details

  • Inpatient and outpatient position within the Physical & Occupational Rehabilitation unit of a 78-bed hospital
  • Provides bedside swallow studies, diet recommendations, and monitoring for inpatients
  • Performs outpatient VFSS studies and speech therapy evaluation/intervention for the adult population
  • Must be willing to work across both inpatient and outpatient units
  • Day shift schedule, working Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7:00am to 5:30pm with Thursdays off
  • 36-40 hours per week
  • No weekend shift requirements
  • Rotating on-call requirement for inpatient coverage, typically once per month
  • Uses McKesson EMR for documentation

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology required
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
  • 2+ years of pediatric SLP experience required
  • VFSS experience required
  • Current BLS certification (AHA) required
  • License required if applicable
  • New graduates will not be considered
  • Must have own vehicle for this assignment
  • Current Skills Checklist for Speech Language Pathology, within 1 year, required for consideration
  • At least 1 supervisory-signed reference from within the past two years of employment required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provides speech, language, and dysphagia services including evaluations, treatment planning, treatments, and home programs under general supervision
  • Designs and revises individualized plans of care and treatment goals
  • Provides written and verbal reports to physicians and completes documentation per unit and regulatory standards
  • Participates in in-service education, staff meetings, patient care committees, case conferences, and community education projects
  • Candidate must be able to work independently and hit the ground running from day one
  • Business casual attire or matching scrubs required
  • Accepts candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility at a reduced rate
  • Time off requests must be submitted and verified prior to assignment start, with no more than 5 days of RTO accepted
