    Description

    Performance Objectives

    • Originate and close new Financial Services engagements that generate substantial, recurring revenue within the first 18 months.
    • Lead trial and arbitration teams to favorable resolutions in securities, FINRA, D&O, and insurance-coverage disputes.
    • Expand existing client relationships by identifying adjacent risks and converting them into additional matters.
    • Mentor associates and of-counsel so they independently handle depositions, motion practice, and client communications at partner-level quality.
    • Contribute to firm thought leadership through published articles, CLE presentations, and industry-conference speaking that attract new clients.
    • Collaborate with the firm’s insurance-coverage and professional-liability groups to deliver integrated defense strategies.


    Environment & Resources

    You will report to the Managing Partner and work closely with a 200+ attorney platform that already includes established Financial, Insurance, and D&O practices. You receive dedicated origination credit, marketing support, and access to the firm’s national network of offices. Budget for business development, expert witnesses, and e-discovery is allocated on a case-by-case basis with partner-level autonomy.


    Essential Qualifications

    • J.D. and active bar admission in New York or a jurisdiction where the firm maintains an office.
    • Demonstrated book of portable Financial Services litigation business or a clear, documented path to origination.
    • First-chair or substantial second-chair experience in securities, banking, or professional-liability trials or arbitrations.
    • Proven ability to manage teams, budgets, and client expectations on matters exceeding seven figures in exposure.
    • Track record of published writing or speaking that has generated inbound inquiries.
