Position: Paralegal (Family Law)
Location: Chicago, IL
Schedule: Full-Time | Hybrid
Salary Range: $80,000-$100,000, commensurate with experience

Overview

LHH is assisting a well-established and growing Chicago-based family law firm in its search for an experienced Family Law Paralegal. This role supports attorneys with substantive casework involving divorce, custody, parentage, and related matters and is ideal for a paralegal who is confident managing cases from intake through resolution and values accuracy, organization, and client service.

Responsibilities
  • Draft, file, and manage pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence
  • Handle Cook County e-filings through Odyssey eFileIL, including tracking confirmations and court notices
  • Assist with all phases of family law matters, including divorce, custody, support, and post-decree issues
  • Manage discovery, including financial disclosures and document production
  • Prepare trial binders, exhibits, and hearing materials
  • Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and outside vendors
  • Conduct basic legal research and document review
  • Track deadlines and ensure compliance with Cook County and Illinois court rules
  • Maintain well-organized electronic case files
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of paralegal experience, with a strong preference for family law
  • Paralegal certificate and/or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Hands-on experience with Cook County filings and Odyssey eFileIL required
  • Strong drafting, proofreading, and organizational skills
  • Experience with legal case management software and e-filing systems
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize competing deadlines
  • Professional, client-focused demeanor
