Regional Media Buyer - Paid Media

Description

At Xe, we live currencies. We provide a comprehensive range of currency services and products, including our Currency Converter, Market Analysis, Currency Data API and quick, easy, secure Money Transfers for individuals and businesses. We leverage technology to deliver these services through our website, mobile app and by phone. Last year, we helped over 300 million people access information about the currencies that matter to them and over 225,000 people used us to send money overseas.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

We are looking for a Regional Media Buyer to build, launch, and optimise paid media campaigns for your assigned region. This is a hands-on execution role at the core of how Xe acquires customers. Day to day, you will be inside the platforms - building campaigns, managing budgets, and tracking performance across Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, and Apple Search Ads.

Xe runs paid media as a centralised, best-practice-led function. That means you will not be inventing your own way of doing things in isolation: you will execute against shared briefs, campaign structures, and naming conventions, apply the standards the global paid media team sets, and keep your region''s setup consistent with the rest of the business. Your value is in flawless, fast, and accurate execution - campaigns that go live correctly, budgets that pace to plan, and data that everyone can trust.

We believe in using AI to optimise how we work. We want someone who is AI-forward - using it to build smarter systems and integrations, speed up competitor research, and take the manual weight out of execution and reporting - while keeping their own judgment firmly in the driver''s seat. AI is a tool that makes a sharp buyer sharper; it is not a substitute for understanding the platforms, the data, and the strategy behind the work.

You will report to the Global Manager of Paid Media and work closely with the other regional buyers, as well as with design, analytics, and the wider marketing team. This is a strong role for someone early in their paid media career who wants to go deep on execution across every major channel and grow within a global team.

OUR PRINCIPLES

AMBITION - We dream big, try things out and always ask "why not?" and "what if?" We''re ambitious in our thinking and our delivery.

RESPONSIBILITY - We get involved, bring our perspective, and are always open to new ideas. We take personal responsibility.

COMMUNITY - We value a sense of belonging, trusting each other and encouraging authenticity. We contribute to our community.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Building & Executing Campaigns

  • Build, launch, and manage paid campaigns across Google Ads (Search, Performance Max, Display, and YouTube), Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, and Apple Search Ads for your assigned region.

  • Set up campaigns to the shared standard - consistent structures, naming conventions, tracking, and audience/keyword configuration - so your region''s account is clean, organized, and easy to read.

  • Write and traffic ad copy, keywords, audiences, and creative assets into each platform, and coordinate with design to get the assets you need on time.

  • Turn briefs from the global paid media team into live, correctly configured campaigns, and get them to market quickly and accurately.

Optimization & Best Practices

  • Stay current on platform changes, new ad formats, beta features, and best-practice updates across Google, Meta, TikTok, and Apple Search Ads, and put them into practice in your accounts.

  • Run day-to-day optimization - bids, budgets, audiences, keywords, negatives, placements, and creative rotation - to improve performance against targets.

  • Support and execute structured tests (creative, audience, bidding, landing page) and document what you learn so it can be applied across regions.

  • Flag opportunities and risks early and bring ideas for what to try next.

Working AI-Forward

  • Use AI tools to work faster and smarter - drafting and iterating ad copy, generating and analyzing competitor research, summarizing performance data, and taking the repetitive work out of setup and reporting.

  • Look for ways to build AI into your systems, integrations, and workflows so your region runs more efficiently, and share what works with the wider paid media team.

  • Apply your own judgment to everything AI produces - validating outputs, sense-checking against the data, and owning the final decision. We want AI accelerating your work, not doing your job for you.

Budget Management

  • Manage and pace campaign budgets to plan - monitor daily and weekly spend, avoid over- and under-delivery, and reallocate within your region as performance dictates.

  • Keep accurate records of spend by channel and campaign, and reconcile against the plan.

  • Escalate pacing issues, budget shortfalls, or unexpected cost changes promptly.

Data Tracking & Reporting

  • Own accurate tracking for your campaigns - UTMs, conversion tracking, and correct tagging - so results are measured cleanly and consistently.

  • Pull performance data from each platform and Xe''s reporting tools, and maintain clear, up-to-date reporting on the metrics that matter (spend, CAC, conversions, and channel efficiency).

  • Use the shared measurement framework and metric definitions so your region''s numbers line up with the rest of the business.

  • Surface insights from the data - what''s working, what isn''t, and what you''d change - in regular reporting to the Global Manager of Paid Media.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience building and managing paid media campaigns, ideally in-house or at an agency.

  • Direct, in-platform experience with at least two of Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, and Apple Search Ads, and the appetite to become strong across all four.

  • Comfortable building campaigns from scratch - structures, keywords/audiences, ad copy, and tracking - and keeping accounts organized and consistent.

  • Solid understanding of paid media fundamentals: bidding, budgeting, audience targeting, and the core metrics (CPC, CPA/CAC, ROAS, conversion rate).

  • Experience managing and pacing campaign budgets, with a careful, detail-oriented approach to spend.

  • Comfortable working with data: pulling performance reports, setting up conversion tracking and UTMs, and reading results accurately.

  • Highly organised and reliable, able to manage multiple live campaigns at once and follow shared processes and standards closely.

  • Eager to keep up with a fast-changing landscape and put new platform features and best practices into use.

  • AI-forward: you actively use AI tools to speed up execution, research, and reporting, and to build better systems and integrations - while relying on your own judgment to check the output and make the calls.

  • Strong communicator who can report clearly on performance and collaborate across a distributed team.

  • Experience with Google Analytics, Looker, or similar reporting/BI tools is a plus.

  • Experience in fintech, payments, financial services, or another regulated, multi-market business is a plus.
