Outreach Specialist

LIFE Pittsburgh, a growing nonprofit organization with approximately 400 employees, is a community based alternative to nursing home care and assisted living. Through the LIFE Pittsburgh program, frail older adults can remain in their own home and receive a coordinated plan of care that enables them to maintain their independence and enjoy a safe and active life in the community. Our health teams of geriatric doctors, nurses, social workers, rehabilitation specialists and other health care professionals assess our Participants' needs and desires, plan and approve services with them and their family or caregiver, monitor for changes and provide timely interventions. Primary care and community services are provided through our Day Health Centers and through our in home program according to an individual Participant's needs. 

With Pennsylvania's new delivery of Medicaid Services, (Community Health Choices), LIFE Pittsburgh is looking to expand our team.  The Outreach Specialist will support our marketing and senior community partnerships. Reporting to the Manager of Outreach and Enrollment, the Outreach Coordinator will develop and maintain relationships through various programming activities with community organizations (senior apartments, senior centers, churches, food pantries, medical clinics, etc.) to attract potential participants to LIFE Pittsburgh. The Outreach Coordinator will support other general public relations responsibilities, such as writing press releases and our social media presence. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and possess superior organizational, problem solving, and time management skills in addition to excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bachelor’s degree required, minimum of 3-5 years’ experience within Outreach, Marketing or relevant experience, with 2 years experiences working with older adults.  Valid Driver’s license, use of a vehicle for regular travel in the area.
