Standard Job Description
Fleet Ballistic Missiles (FBM) is one of Lockheed Martin's best-in-class lines of business that prioritizes partnership, integrity, and reliability. Ordnance Engineering is an organization within FBM that handles the design, production support, test and sustainment of the missile explosive hardware.
As a Ordnance Engineer, you will be expected to collaborate well in a environment and have excellent communication skills. Additionally, in this role, you will have numerous opportunities to represent the Ordnance group with our Navy partner and LM leadership, with many opportunities for career development along the way.
In this role you will support the engineering team by performing preliminary and detailed level component and system design, development, and integration for flight as well as ground systems.
Your duties will include responsibility for the design, manufacture, procurement, analysis and test for the initiation system, separation, and mechanism ordnance and propulsion components, assemblies and systems. This job requires coordinating with customers, suppliers, test facilities, and other related fields including manufacturing, test, quality, structure design, analysis, systems engineering, and integration with affected subsystems and facilities. Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.
Basic Qualifications
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or equivalent experience
Desired Skills
Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice

Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00
