The Department of Community Dentistry and Behavioral Science at the University of Florida includes two research centers: Pain Research and Intervention Center of Excellence (PRICE) https://price.ctsi.ufl.edu/ and Center for Oral Health Outcomes: Research, Training, and Service (COHORTS) https://cohorts.dental.ufl.edu/ . This position serves and is shared among the Department, PRICE, and COHORTS. We’re dedicated to bridging the gap between scientific research and real-world practice. Our work spans pain, oral health, public health, behavioral science, education, and community engagement. We believe that good science deserves great storytelling—and that’s where you come in.• As our Digital Communications Specialist, you’ll lead the creation and management of digital content that informs, inspires, and drives action. You’ll work closely with researchers, practitioners, and policy experts to craft compelling messages and visuals that resonate with diverse audiences.

Classification Minimum Requirements:
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.)
  • Experience managing social media accounts and campaigns
  • Strong interactional skills to work with scientists, clinicians, and trainees to develop content
  • Strong web design skills (WordPress, Squarespace, or similar platforms)
  • Ability to synthesize and communicate scientific information clearly
  • Excellent writing, editing, and visual storytelling abilities
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design
Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute social media strategies across platforms (X, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.)
  • Design and maintain engaging, user-friendly websites and landing pages
  • Create visually striking graphics, infographics, and digital assets for reports, campaigns, and events
  • Translate scientific findings into accessible, audience-tailored content, including developing podcasts and media releases
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support outreach, dissemination, and knowledge translation
  • Monitor analytics and optimize content for reach and engagement
 
Expected Salary:

$20.00 - $24.00/hr, commensurate with education/experience

Required Qualifications:
