Summary:The Operations Supervisor is a leadership position responsible for overseeing the daily operational, administrative, quality, and performance functions of the Department. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of emergency healthcare operations, regulatory compliance, patient flow management, staffing coordination, quality improvement, technology systems, and departmental business management.
The Operations Supervisor partners closely with the Department Nurse Manager, Medical Director, hospital leadership, and ancillary departments to ensure safe, efficient, patient-centered care that aligns with organizational goals, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements. The position is responsible for optimizing workflows, improving patient throughput, supporting staff development, and ensuring operational excellence across all department functions.
Position Reports To: Department Manager
Essential Functions:Promotes a professional, team-based environment throughout the department and with all other departments within Confluence Health. Serves as a consultant, mentor and role model to staff
Proactively identifies staffing levels according to defined position specifications to ensure appropriate staffing effectiveness and established standards. Ensures department schedule is completed per contract guidelines and meets core staffing needs.
Monitors serves and performance standards for departmental functions per established expectations. Designs, directs and implements actions to continuously improve quality.
Participates/implements improvement projects focused on achievement of annual goals and initiatives, ensure implementation of and adherence to improvement changes.
Participates in patient and employee satisfaction monitoring and improvement processes.
Participates in ensuring that payroll is complete and accurate. Assists the department manager in development and monitoring of operating and capital budget.
Responsible for department level ordering and tracking of special equipment.
In collaboration with the Leadership team; develops and implements unit goals that support the hospitals strategic goals, programs, policies and procedures that guide and support the provisions of service.
Assists the Department Director and Manager in ensuring all accreditation standards are met on an ongoing basis.
Responsible for hiring, supervision and performance evaluation of unlicensed and licensed Nursing Assistant/ED techs in collaboration with Department Manager.
