Description

Our client, a Banking company, is looking for a Operations Officer III for their Toronto, ON/Hybrid location.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Perform independent reviews of EFTR data discrepancy and data incompleteness alerts triggered by regulatory and risk based system rules.
  • Analyze source documentation (systems of record, transaction systems, physical or electronic records) to determine accurate reporting outcomes.
  • Remediate EFTR records by accurately updating required data fields within reporting systems using judgment and regulatory understanding.
  • Validate data accuracy through reconciliation, verification, and exception handling.
  • Identify, correct, or escalate data quality issues within defined SLAs, ensuring appropriate documentation and audit trail.
  • Draft and manage requests for information (RFIs) with internal partners to obtain missing or conflicting data and ensure timely resolution.
  • Respond to partner inquiries professionally and efficiently, supporting end to end EFTR remediation outcomes.
  • The Operations Officer III is an experienced AML Operations professional responsible for executing and supporting moderate to high complexity EFTR regulatory reporting activities.
  • This role requires strong working knowledge of EFTR requirements, data remediation, and regulatory controls, and acts as a trusted subject matter resource within the team.
  • The incumbent is expected to exercise sound judgment, manage end to end remediation outcomes, and proactively identify risks, trends, and process improvement opportunities while operating with a high degree of independence.
  • Customer:
  • Act as a key operational subject matter expert for EFTR (Electronic Fund Transfer Reporting) regulatory reporting, providing technical guidance, issue analysis, and process support within AML Operations.
  • Support and contribute to the design, enhancement, and implementation of operational workflows, system changes, and process improvements to strengthen regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Execute EFTR reporting and remediation activities in strict adherence to regulatory requirements, internal procedures, and control standards, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Perform advanced analysis and execution of AML reporting activities, including consolidated or aggregated reporting, where applicable.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and escalate operational issues, data quality gaps, or control weaknesses, engaging appropriate partners to drive resolution and maintain service and compliance standards.
  • Serve as a point of contact for complex or non standard EFTR matters, supporting consistent interpretation and application of reporting requirements.
  • Shareholder:
  • Independently prioritize and manage workload to meet operational, service, quality, and productivity targets across competing deadlines and volumes.
  • Execute transactions and remediation activities accurately and on time, in line with established procedures, controls, and formal or informal SLAs.
  • Exercise sound discretion in handling confidential information and sensitive correspondence, escalating issues appropriately.
  • Identify, manage, and escalate risk by recognizing unusual, high risk, or non standard transactions and ensuring appropriate controls and documentation are applied.
  • Actively support internal/external audits and regulatory reviews, including providing explanations, supporting documentation, and operational insights; contribute recommendations to address findings or gaps.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging AML / EFTR regulatory requirements, risks, and operational impacts, and support the assessment and implementation of necessary changes.
  • Operate in alignment with enterprise risk management frameworks, including AML, Regulatory Reporting, and Business Continuity Management expectations.

  • Promote an inclusive, respectful, and equitable work environment and act as a brand ambassador for AML Operations and the Bank.
  • Breadth & depth:
  • Perform highly complex, multi step operational activities across systems, processes, and data sources, often involving moderate to high regulatory or operational risk.
  • Apply specialized EFTR and AML knowledge to resolve complex data discrepancies, assess remediation options, and support regulatory outcomes.
  • Review existing processes and controls, identifying opportunities for efficiency, risk reduction, and quality improvement.
  • Analyze data and trends to identify systemic issues, escalating insights and contributing to sustainable solutions.
  • Interact regularly with internal partners and stakeholders; provide process and policy guidance where appropriate.
  • Work scope typically spans daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc initiatives, requiring planning and adaptability.
  • Recognized as a process level subject matter expert within EFTR Operations and generally reports to a Team Manager.
 
Requirements:
  • 1.5+ years of progressive experience in FINTRAC EFTR regulatory reporting.
  • Prior experience within a corporate or financial services environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suit
  • Strong team player
  • Proven ability to work independently on moderate to high complexity operational tasks with strong attention to detail and risk awareness.
  • Previous TD Experience
  • 1.5+ years of progressive experience in FINTRAC EFTR regulatory reporting.
  • Prior experience within a corporate or financial services environment,
