    Operations Manager

    Setting/Hours: 100% In-Office | Full-time

    Join trak group in partnering with a growing client seeking an Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations within a specialized precision repair and service environment. This position will oversee production staff, scheduling, workflow, quality, inventory, and technical development while ensuring customer delivery expectations and operational KPIs are achieved.

    The ideal candidate brings strong operations leadership combined with a mechanical and technical background, including familiarity with CNC machining, assembly, precision equipment, or machine tool repair. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity focused on developing people, improving processes, and driving operational excellence.
    Responsibilities

    • Manage daily production floor operations, including staffing, scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation.

    • Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer delivery commitments and operational KPIs.

    • Coordinate with Sales and Operations to establish priorities and ensure orders move efficiently through production.

    • Prepare repair estimates and provide timely updates regarding order status and delivery expectations.

    • Partner closely with Sales and Customer Service to ensure a smooth and positive customer experience.

    • Oversee quality control processes and conduct inspections of repaired and rebuilt equipment.

    • Identify employee training needs and lead the technical development of production staff.

    • Monitor component and material inventory and coordinate with Procurement to maintain appropriate availability.

    • Partner with Maintenance to schedule and complete preventive maintenance on production equipment.

    • Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement process improvements to improve productivity and reduce costs.

    • Apply Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies to operational processes.

    • Monitor overall service center performance and drive accountability for quality, delivery, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

    • Provide hands-on technical leadership and support routine technical or engineering-related projects.
    Must-Haves

    • 2-year technical or business degree.

    • 5+ years of operations management experience, preferably within a service, repair, manufacturing, or technical environment.

    • Experience leading production or technical employees.

    • Strong knowledge of production scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation.

    • Familiarity with CNC machining and assembly processes.

    • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.

    • Knowledge of precision equipment repair and/or machine tools.

    • Experience working with ERP and CRM systems.

    • Basic engineering knowledge with the ability to support routine technical projects.

    • Experience managing quality, productivity, delivery, and operational performance.

    • Strong organizational and leadership skills.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Ability to work independently and make operational decisions with minimal supervision.

    • Detail-oriented approach with a strong focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.
    Preferred

    • Previous leadership experience in a service-based or repair organization.

    • Experience with spindle repair, machine tool repair, or other precision rotating equipment.

    • Lean manufacturing or Lean process improvement experience.

    • Experience implementing operational process improvements and cost-reduction initiatives.

    • Background managing inventory and coordinating with purchasing or procurement.

    • Experience developing and training technical production teams.
