Inpria is seeking an Operations Manager to lead daily manufacturing execution in a high-performance, extended-shift production environment. This role is responsible for safe, reliable, and disciplined operation of the manufacturing organization, including shift-supervisor leadership, operator capability, staffing and headcount planning, production performance, and cross-functional coordination. The Operations Manager translates production requirements into consistent execution. The role partners closely with Process Engineering, Facilities, Quality, EHS, Supply Chain, Planning, and other functions to sustain manufacturing performance, resolve operational constraints, and ensure effective transition of new processes and equipment into routine production.
- Lead day-to-day manufacturing execution to deliver safe, compliant, reliable, and high-quality production.
- Directly manage shift supervisors and manufacturing specialists to provide clear expectations, coaching, performance feedback, and development for front-line operations leaders.
- Establish a strong operating culture centered on safety, procedural discipline, ownership, effective escalation, continuous improvement, and respect for people.
- Support investigation and resolution of production interruptions, deviations, recurring process issues, and operational constraints.
- Use daily management systems, manufacturing data, and team feedback to identify emerging issues and drive timely corrective action.
- Own operational performance against manufacturing objectives for safety, production attainment, quality, yield, defectivity, cycle time, downtime, and labor effectiveness.
- Lead structured problem-solving for manufacturing losses and recurring operational issues, engaging Process Engineering and other technical partners as needed.
- Drive improvement in operating consistency, shift-to-shift execution, equipment utilization, material flow, and operator effectiveness.
- Provide operational input into process optimization efforts, including feedback on process robustness, manufacturability, equipment usability, and execution risk.
- Own staffing and headcount planning to support a continuous extended-shift manufacturing operation, including coverage, capability, succession depth, and sustainable workload.
- Build and maintain an effective operator and supervisor training system that supports qualification, cross-training, capability development, and reliable execution.
- Develop supervisors and technicians as accountable leaders who can manage their shifts, coach team members, enforce standards, and escalate issues appropriately.
- Ensure supervisors retain ownership of day-to-day shift scheduling while providing the organizational capacity and staffing structure required to maintain coverage.
- Partner with Process Engineering to ensure new processes, equipment, and operational changes are appropriately prepared for manufacturing execution.
- Ensure disciplined handoff from Process Engineering into Operations once a new process or equipment system is ready for routine production.
- Assume sustaining Operations ownership after the process or equipment handoff, while maintaining effective feedback loops to Process Engineering on performance, reliability, manufacturability, and improvement opportunities.
- Work closely with Facilities, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Planning, and other site functions to resolve constraints and support reliable manufacturing execution.
- Work closely with Quality and EHS to ensure manufacturing practices meet applicable safety, quality, regulatory, and company requirements.
- Provide manufacturing input and support during ERP and MES implementation to improve visibility, traceability, and operational control.
- Represent manufacturing requirements in the design, testing, deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement of production-related business and manufacturing systems.
- Support the development and use of meaningful operational metrics, visual management, shift reporting, and performance-review routines.
- Drive adoption of systems and standard processes that improve data quality, execution discipline, traceability, and responsiveness.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, manufacturing, operations management, or a related technical field with 8+ years experience; advanced degree preferred. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- Experience in process engineering and/or manufacturing within high-purity chemicals or semiconductor materials.
- Demonstrated success leading supervisors, operators, or other front-line manufacturing teams in a multi-shift or continuous-operation environment.
- Experience managing manufacturing performance across safety, quality, delivery, yield, downtime, labor utilization, and continuous-improvement objectives.
- Proven ability to create accountability while maintaining a constructive, respectful, and development-oriented team culture.
- Experience with statistical process control, data analysis, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving methods.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence decisions across R&D, quality, engineering, operations, and management.
