    Nordson is seeking an Operations Finance Manager who can provide both technical costing expertise and people leadership across their Johns Creek, GA and Swansboro, GA manufacturing facilities for their Packaging and Product Assembly divisions. This individual will serve as the costing SME, lead and develop a small team, and establish greater structure, accountability, and process discipline within the finance organization.

    Responsibilities:

    • In this role, you will lead the cost accounting department for a global leading manufacturing and technology corporation providing coaching, guidance, and clear expectations to the team.
    • You will be responsible for the financial operations of two large complex manufacturing sites with oversight of 2 site Controllers

    Key Priorities

    • Serve as the subject matter expert for cost accounting, standard costing, manufacturing variances, and plant financial performance.
    • Lead and develop a team of two Controllers, while providing coaching, guidance, and clear expectations.
    • Partner closely with Operations leadership and other finance leaders to support plant performance and business objectives.
    • Gain deep understanding of the Packaging business (~$500M globally) and the operational complexities of both manufacturing locations.
    • Provide financial leadership for the more complex Swansboro and Johns Creek facilities, including regular travel to Swansboro (initially more frequent, eventually approximately twice per quarter).

    Ideal Background

    Strong experience in a manufacturing environment with deep knowledge of:

    • Standard costing
    • Cost accounting
    • Manufacturing variances
    • Inventory accounting
    • CAPEX processes
    • Plant finance support
    • Proven ability to explain financial results, identify root causes of variances, and drive operational improvements.
    • Experience supporting or owning portions of the P&L and influencing business decisions through financial insights.
    • Ability to think strategically and support initiatives such as sourcing strategy, localization efforts, and operational efficiency improvements.

    Leadership Expectations

    • Strong leadership, executive communication, and talent development skills.
    • Ability to create clarity around roles and responsibilities between Controllers and Finance Managers.
    • Establish a more formal onboarding and training approach, including documentation, processes, and support tools for new hires.

    Success After Year One

    The successful candidate will:

    • Be viewed as the costing expert across the plants.
    • Have implemented stronger processes, reporting structures, and role clarity.
    • Demonstrate ownership of key costing and CAPEX processes.
    • Improve team onboarding, development, and operational support.
    • Serve as a trusted business partner to Operations and Finance leadership while helping drive strategic decision-making.

    Qualifications

    • The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA designation, and at least 8 years of progressive experience, including 2 years in a financial management role within a relevant industry
