    About the Opportunity
    A well-established California-based law firm is seeking an experienced attorney with 7+ years of litigation experience to join its Trial & Litigation team with a focus on eminent domain matters. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful land acquisition and infrastructure-related cases throughout California involving public entity projects.
    This position is ideal for a strategic and motivated attorney who enjoys complex litigation, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is interested in contributing to significant legal matters involving real property and public use projects.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage eminent domain and related litigation matters from inception through resolution
    • Handle all phases of litigation including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and appeals
    • Draft and argue substantive and dispositive motions
    • Build trial strategy through fact development and legal analysis
    • Interview witnesses and prepare evidentiary support
    • Take and defend depositions
    • Collaborate with attorneys and legal teams on litigation strategy and case management
    • Provide legal counsel on land acquisition and real property matters involving public infrastructure projects
    • Participate in bench and jury trials as needed

    Work Schedule

    • Hybrid work environment
    • Continued remote flexibility paired with designated in-office collaboration days

    Required Qualifications

    • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
    • Active California Bar membership in good standing
    • 7+ years of litigation experience
    • Strong experience with law and motion practice, including dispositive motions
    • Demonstrated experience preparing matters for trial
    • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
    • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Prior eminent domain experience
    • Real estate or real property litigation background
    • Experience handling matters involving public entities or infrastructure-related legal issues
    • Trial experience in bench and/or jury settings
