    Job Title: OB Director (RN)
    Location: Hancock, Michigan
    Employment Type: Full-Time | 1.0 FTE / 80 hours per pay period
    Work Setting: Onsite
    Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour day shifts

    The OB Director (RN) provides leadership and coordination for the Obstetrics department while supporting safe, high-quality care for mothers and newborns.
    The Director serves as a clinical and operational resource for the OB team, coordinates staffing and professional development, monitors regulatory and accreditation compliance, and drives performance improvement initiatives.

    This position offers an opportunity to lead a dedicated OB team in a Level I Maternal Care and Nursery facility while supporting family-centered care throughout the community.
    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide and coordinate care of OB patients using the nursing process.
    • Lead and support Labor & Delivery and OB clinical operations.
    • Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of clinical services.
    • Serve as a clinical resource to staff and external contacts regarding:
      • Patient care
      • Patient flow
      • Clinical standards
      • Policies and procedures
    • Conduct performance improvement studies and assist with implementation of PI initiatives.
    • Monitor departmental compliance with applicable:
      • Accreditation requirements
      • Legal requirements
      • The Joint Commission standards
      • Clinical and organizational policies
    • Coordinate staff scheduling and staffing needs.
    • Coordinate employee education, professional development, and competency activities.
    • Conduct and/or coordinate staff performance evaluations.
    • Provide and coordinate patient education, particularly related to Labor & Delivery.
    • Support development and maintenance of clinical standards and procedures.
    • Promote quality, safety, and patient-centered care.
    • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
    • Support effective patient flow and departmental operations.
    • Serve as a visible leadership resource for the OB team.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Required Qualifications
    • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing school.
    • Current, unrestricted Michigan RN license.
    • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP).
    • Strong clinical knowledge of obstetric nursing and Labor & Delivery.
    • Ability to provide leadership and clinical direction within an OB environment.
    • Ability to support regulatory, accreditation, quality, and patient safety requirements.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
    • 4+ years of Labor & Delivery experience.
    • 2+ years of healthcare leadership experience.
    • Current NRP certification.
    • Current AWHONN-EFM certification.
    • Current AWHONN-POEP certification.
    • Current STABLE certification.
    • Experience leading an OB/Labor & Delivery department.
    • Experience with performance improvement initiatives.
    • Experience with staff scheduling, education, and performance management.
    • Experience working with The Joint Commission requirements.
    Certification Timing: NRP, AWHONN-EFM, AWHONN-POEP, and STABLE should be current or obtained within 1 year, as specified by the client.
