Position Overview
A community hospital is seeking an experienced OB RN Director to lead its Labor & Delivery team. This leadership opportunity is within a Level I Maternal Care and Nursery facility focused on providing personalized, family-centered care for mothers and babies.
The Director will oversee clinical operations, staff development, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and patient care while helping drive exceptional outcomes across OB services.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate OB/Labor & Delivery operations
- Ensure high-quality care for mothers and babies
- Manage staffing, scheduling, education, and performance evaluations
- Lead performance and quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure regulatory and Joint Commission compliance
- Support patient flow and clinical standards
- Serve as a clinical resource for nursing staff
- Coordinate patient and family education
Requirements
- Active Michigan RN license or eligibility
- Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- Labor & Delivery RN experience required
- 4+ years of L&D experience preferred
- 2+ years of healthcare leadership experience preferred
- BLS-HCP required
- NRP, AWHONN-EFM, AWHONN-POEP & STABLE required currently or within 1 year
