CC038351 ACRI ACNC General SalaryThe Nutritionist Assistant I assists the Nutrition Study Coordinator (NSC) in the day-to-day nutrition data collection and quality control of study procedures. The Nutritionist Assistant I follows standard operating procedures, attends training sessions, and maintains certifications, where appropriate and as directed by the NSC. The Nutritionist Assistant I obtains accurate, high quality data from study participants while minimizing the risks and distresses the study participant may experience. Special attention is given to developing and maintaining a pleasant and professional relationship with all study participants and their families, as well as with the ACNC staff and faculty.
1. Trains bi-annually and certifies annually in all nutrition-related study procedure measurements including anthropometrics, body composition (PeaPod, BodPod, BIA, DXA, NMR), resting energy expenditure (metabolic cart) and any other procedure that will be pertinent to research protocols.
2. Interacts and communicates with research participants, families and co-workers. Respects privacy and confidentiality of participants and adheres to HIPPA regulations.
3. Demonstrates the ability to learn, perform and maintain competencies in performing all study procedures. Practices cost effective use of resources.
4. Demonstrates professionalism as evidence by: appearance, ethical practice (honest, trustworthy, truthful, dependable, accountable, cooperative, courteous), and motivation.
5. May cross-train in other clinical research areas, such as the Brain Function Unit (Geodesic Sensor Net), EEG, EKG and any other research task requested by supervisor and/or ACNC administration.
