    Job Summary

    Responsible for the oversight and management of the day-to-day operations of the department. Works with both, staff and patients to promote a healthy and safe work environment. Enforces evidence-based policies, procedures and standards of care. Supervises staff; assists in selection of personnel for hire; performance management, and makes recommendations on discipline and termination. Responsible for executing strategic initiatives including but not limited to scheduling of cases, supplies and equipment, case turn over, intra-departmental handoffs or patient discharge process. Other related duties as assigned.

    Responsibilities

    General Management:

    • Supports established goals and objectives that support overall strategic plans of the facility
    • Monitors the annual department operating and capital budgets
    • Supervises daily operations of assigned department/s
    • Supervises performance of staff
    • Demonstrates objectivity in decision making, utilizing facts to support decisions
    • Supports the mission statement, policies and procedures
    • Participates in eliminating boundaries to achieve integrated, efficient and quality service
    • Achieves ongoing compliance with all regulatory agencies
    • Serves as a resource to employees and customers as demonstrated by visibility and knowledge of issues
    • Demonstrates flexibility in response to change
    • Anticipates and responds to problems and risks
    • Communicates effectively with all levels in the organization and with inter/external customers

    People Management:

    • Assists in selection of personnel for hire and promotion; takes appropriate actions regarding counseling, disciplinary actions, demotion and termination
    • Supervises, supports and coaches direct reports
    • Responds proactively to employee needs and concerns
    • Assists with development of "experts" and "expertise" throughout the department and seeks employee input
    • Facilitates consensus among divergent groups
    • Minimizes staff turnover
    • Conveys employees' strengths and accomplishments
    • Assists in evaluating assigned staff performance and competency, providing direct feedback
    • Supports competency plans

    Department/Business Unit Management:

    • Completes schedules to insure an appropriate level of staffing
    • Functions as a staff person as necessary
    • Maintains appropriate supply levels
    • Maintains accurate records of all procedures performed
    • Oversees students and other hospital employees visiting the area
    • Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
    • Maintains safe environment
    • Addresses patient population-specific needs
    • Participates in Performance Improvement activities

    Qualifications

    • Special Skills

    • Minimum Requirements

    • Experience: 3 years of experience in cardiovascular services.

    • Education: Graduate of accredited school of nursing and/or accredited school of radiology and/or accredited school of cardiovascular technology.

    • Certifications: Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy AART, ACVT or RCIS; BLS.

    • Preferred Requirements

    • Education: Bachelor's degree.
