Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida or valid Multi-State Compact license

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required

• MUST have recent Behavioral Health nursing experience in an acute care setting

• Demonstrated clinical leadership, charge, or nursing management experience in psychiatric/behavioral health services

• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) required within 30 days of employment

• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification required within 30 days of employment

• Mandatory background fingerprinting clearance required prior to start

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and clinical leadership for the daily functions, workflows, and nurse staffing of the behavioral health unit

• Oversee the delivery of specialized, evidence-based psychiatric and mental health care across patient populations (children, adolescents, adults, and seniors)

• Direct, mentor, and evaluate unit nursing staff, driving professional competency, retention, and a culture of accountability

• Ensure adherence to clinical care plans, crisis de-escalation protocols, and patient safety standards

• Maintain strict compliance with hospital SOPs, quality benchmarks, and healthcare regulatory standards

• Facilitate multidisciplinary collaboration among psychiatrists, social workers, clinical therapists, and medical teams to ensure continuity of care

• Manage patient admissions, unit throughput, and discharge planning workflows within the psychiatric setting
