This is a PRN position with coverage scheduled as needed based on departmental needs and provider availability.

Summary:
The Advance Practice Provider (APP) is a non-exempt position responsible for providing Urologic patient care under direct Physician supervision. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assessing and diagnosing patients, prescribing medications and treatments, providing ongoing care, and educating patients. This is an as-needed (PRN) position with variable days and hours rather than a fixed schedule. The APP may provide coverage in both the outpatient clinic and hospital settings, depending on departmental needs. When providing hospital coverage, the APP will serve as the initial point of contact for patient call and clinical concerns for after-hours calls. The APP works collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care across both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assesses patient status by obtaining health history through patient/family interviews and chart reviews; assessing presenting illness, risk factors, and family history, psychosocial situation, and cultural factors; and performing appropriate physical examination;
Determine tentative diagnosis and order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests;
Consults with Physicians and other clinicians as an integral part of the clinical team to asses, evaluate, and address Urologic patient needs;
Develops and implements treatment plan by prescribing/dispensing medications and/or injections in compliance with medical practice guidelines and state laws;
Preparation and set up for urological procedures such as but not limited to Cystoscopy, complex Foley placement, continuous bladder irrigation, placing and flushing 3-way catheters.
Communicate with patient regarding medications, treatments, and discharge instructions as applicable.
Educates patients regarding health promotion/illness prevention;
Communicates appropriate case management information to members of the clinical team;
Prepares documentation for medical records including updating patient medical chart by posting examination and test results, diagnosis, medications, and treatment in written/computerized manner;
Coordination of care for office patients. Field clinical phone calls and service as contact to patients and referring Physicians;
Hospital Duties include being in-house to take consults and patient calls, addressing any patient needs. As the provider on call, must be available at the hospital in the event of an emergency such as difficult catheter placement, CBI irrigation, or acute patient care need. Will determine tentative diagnosis and order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests. Consults with Physicians and other clinicals as an integral part of the clinical team to assess, evaluate, and address Urologic patient needs
Serves as first contact for after-hours patient calls as scheduled;
