    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a Nurse Manager to manage and coordinate patient care and personnel needs in a Duke Health Integrated Practice Clinic; plan, develop, implement and evaluate ambulatory health care services, programs and activities. This position will oversee NCEENT locations in Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill and Roxboro and will be expected to travel to each location as needed. 

     

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Manage ambulatory nursing services delivered within the clinic.
    • Manage various personnel activities including orientation, hiring, evaluations, assessing competency, training, scheduling/staffing, counseling and conducting formal discipline for all clinical staff.
    • Collaborate in the development, implementation and expansion of learning opportunities and skill development for all staff. Must analyze, develop and maintain an effective and efficient nursing care delivery system that reflects the needs of patient and family population of the clinic ensuring desired outcomes.
    • Work side-by-side with clinical staff and participate in the education of patients and their caregivers.
    • Collaborate with nursing peers in ambulatory care to promote nursing education and develop/introduce new initiatives for ambulatory care.  Work closely with other nurse managers as resources and be able to mentor others as well.
    • Identify clinical operational needs; manage appropriate levels of supplies and monitor equipment maintenance.  Assess the environment and make recommendations to ensure optimal patient comfort, safety, and compliance with regulatory agencies.
    • Collaborate with the Health Center Administrator to determine fiscal requirements for the specific clinic; predict and recommend for budget equipment and supply needs, staffing needs to safely care for the patient population. Exemplify excellent customer service with direct pees and patients; and throughout the organization.  Exhibit effective communication and problem solving skills.
    • Identify, develop, and implement performance improvement processes to enhance clinic operations and practices for QI.
    • Develop, document, implement, and monitor written policies and procedures reflective of the standard of care, PDC mission statement, and clinic objectives. Work in conjunction with other clinic managers to include but not limited to the HCA, and be able to provide coverage and clinic oversight in the absence of these.
    • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein

     

    Job Eligibility Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required 
    • Minimum of three years of nursing experience with at least one year of leadership experience required.
    • Experience in ambulatory or outpatient clinic operations preferred. 
    • OR, PACU experience preferred.
    • Current RN licensure in the state of NC or compact state. 
    • BLS, PALS, ACLS required

     

    Job Schedule:

    Monday-Friday business hours
