Overview: ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This Nuclear Project Manager II will lead small to medium-sized capital projects supporting refueling outages, forced outages, and online maintenance activities, ensuring safe, high-quality execution that meets scope, schedule, and budget objectives. This role oversees project planning, budgeting, risk management, contract administration, and cross-functional team coordination while supporting outage operations and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has commercial nuclear power plant experience, a current PMP certification, and a strong background managing complex projects in a nuclear operations environment.
This full-time position is located in Richland, WA.
Pay rate: $63.44 - $96.55

Responsibilities:- Manage small to medium-sized capital projects supporting refueling outages, forced outages, online maintenance, and other assigned nuclear plant initiatives.
- Lead project teams of 5 to 10 personnel and provide oversight throughout planning, execution, monitoring, and project closeout.
- Plan, schedule, coordinate, and control project activities to ensure work is completed safely, with quality, on schedule, and within budget.
- Establish project priorities and maintain overall responsibility for project scope, cost, schedule, resources, and performance.
- Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets, including tracking actual costs against forecasted and approved budgets.
- Oversee all aspects of project implementation, including work package preparation, procurement of materials and parts, resource loading, and work execution.
- Support ALARA planning and ensure compliance with industrial safety, nuclear safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify, resolve, and mitigate project risks, schedule delays, conflicts, and execution challenges.
- Develop and manage contracts and serve as the primary interface with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
- Coordinate closely with clients, engineers, project controls, finance personnel, management, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment and progress.
- Prepare and deliver written reports, presentations, project updates, and other communications to senior management and stakeholder groups.
- Develop and maintain long-range project strategies and implementation plans.
- Monitor project management processes and recommend improvements that enhance project effectiveness, efficiency, and performance.
- Apply human performance improvement and error reduction methodologies to support safe and reliable work execution.
- Support implementation of the Columbia Generating Station Self-Assessment and Corrective Action Program.
- Provide outage support, including Outage Control Center (OCC) support activities.
Requirements:- Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
- Commercial nuclear power plant experience required.
- Advanced degree in a related field and 12 years of project management experience in a multifaceted and/or regulated industrial environment;
- OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or a related field and 14 years of project management experience;
- OR Associate's degree and 16 years of relevant experience;
- OR High School Diploma/GED and 18 years of relevant experience.
- At least five years of experience directing project management activities and/or applying project management principles within the nuclear industry.
- Experience managing complex capital projects, online work management activities, or refueling and forced outage projects.
- Experience with commercial nuclear power plant system replacements and upgrades.
- Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, cost control, and resource management.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating activities across multiple stakeholders in a regulated industrial environment.
- Knowledge of error reduction techniques, human performance improvement methodologies, and cost-effective work execution practices.
- Strong understanding of nuclear safety requirements, plant operations, maintenance practices, and outage execution.
- Experience managing contracts, procurement activities, and vendor relationships.
- Nuclear production coordination and work management experience, including conducting and coordinating plant production work.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information to management and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced nuclear operations environment.
- Construction Management certification.
- Previous RO (Reactor Operator) or SRO (Senior Reactor Operator) license or certification.
- Extensive experience serving as a direct supervisor or project manager within a commercial nuclear power plant environment.
- Experience supporting maintenance, operations, or construction projects in the nuclear industry.
