Licensing Engineer III

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university and 7+ years of engineering experience in a technical environment, including at least 2 years in a DOE or NRC regulated nuclear environment; OR Professional Engineer (PE) license and 7+ years of engineering experience in a technical environment, including at least 4 years in a DOE or NRC regulated nuclear environment. This Licensing Engineer III will provide regulatory and technical support for licensing and compliance activities, collaborating with engineering teams, vendors, regulators, and industry stakeholders.

Overview:     
ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This Licensing Engineer III will provide regulatory and technical support for licensing and compliance activities, collaborating with engineering teams, vendors, regulators, and industry stakeholders. Responsibilities include evaluating regulatory requirements, supporting environmental and licensing processes, and helping resolve compliance issues. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in engineering, strong communication and Microsoft Office skills, and experience working in a regulated nuclear environment. Prior experience with license renewal programs, regulatory reviews, or aging management initiatives is preferred. This full-time position is located in Richland, WA.

Pay rate:  $47.75 - $75.86

Responsibilities:

• Provide regulatory and technical support for licensing, compliance, and environmental initiatives.
• Consult with management to identify, address, and resolve nuclear safety, licensing, and regulatory issues.
• Develop recommendations and strategic guidance related to regulatory and environmental project performance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, plant organizations, vendors, regulators, and industry stakeholders.
• Represent the organization at regulatory meetings, industry work groups, workshops, and conferences.
• Support environmental review activities, including conducting field and onsite visits as needed.
• Partner with licensing and environmental experts to resolve regulatory and compliance challenges.
• Monitor and communicate changes to licensing requirements, environmental regulations, policies, and industry standards.
• Apply engineering principles and regulatory processes to evaluate technical issues and support compliance objectives.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university and 7+ years of engineering experience in a technical environment, including at least 2 years in a DOE or NRC regulated nuclear environment; 
• OR Professional Engineer (PE) license and 7+ years of engineering experience in a technical environment, including at least 4 years in a DOE or NRC regulated nuclear environment.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience applying engineering principles, practices, theories, and problem-solving methodologies.
• Knowledge of regulatory affairs, licensing processes, and compliance requirements in a regulated environment.
• Ability to independently perform complex engineering and regulatory assignments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, regulators, and external stakeholders.
• Completion of at least one diverse engineering assignment.
• Experience supporting license renewal efforts for commercial nuclear power plants.
• Experience serving as a technical reviewer of license renewal applications.
• Participation in industry committees focused on license renewal.
• Experience developing, implementing, auditing, or inspecting aging management programs.
